![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You should always check the shutter actuations to help determine the value of your DSLR Body, especially when selling it or purchasing a camera body used. Starting with the Digic 6 processor in 2013, Canon stopped putting that data point into EXIF. So, most of the free counting apps and websites just scrape the count out of the images metadata. Plug in your camera with a USB cable, open the App, and switch on your camera and click "Get Shutter Count". This is such a simple figure and it's unfortunate that Canon does not just provide it within the Camera's menu. Recently I wanted to look up the shutter actuations for my Canon 5D Mark III to see where it was at within it's lifespan and if you go out on Google there are a number of results that claim to help you find the shutter count for free, but in actuality they actually aren't free. ![]()
